At the height of his glory, the "Father of Victory" retired from political life in 1919. Between the ocean and the fisherman's house he rented, Georges Clemenceau, a great friend of Claude Monet, took up the challenge of creating an impressionist-inspired flower garden.

An "impressionist" garden. On the dune, Clemenceau created a garden full of colorful touches with the help of his great friend the painter Claude Monet (1840-1926). Their correspondence made it possible to restore the plantings in 2006.

The retreat of the "Tiger". Georges Clemenceau (1841-1929) first distinguished himself as a journalist by publishing Zola's famous "J'accuse" in his daily newspaper L'Aurore. Leader of the Radical Party, Senator and then President of the Council from 1906 to 1909, he was recalled to power in 1917. The "Father La Victoire" rented this house in his native region from 1919, then retired from political life.

A place for meditation and writing. It is here, facing the ocean, that this academician - he was elected to the French Academy by acclamation in 1918 - looks back on the events of his remarkable destiny and writes several books.
