Get as close as possible to the famous Fort Boyard! Departure from the Old Port of La Rochelle, commented cruise with view on the islands - Aix Island, Ré Island, Oleron Island.

At a time when land-based cannons did not reach far enough, Fort Boyard was built to protect the Charente estuary, the Isle of Aix and Rochefort from attack by enemy ships.

However, advances in artillery outpaced its construction, and rendered it useless from a military point of view when completed. It was eventually converted and used as a prison.

Listed as a "Historic Monument", it is now known throughout the world for the famous game show, filmed on site since 1990.

Discover it during a 2-hour walk by sea which will bring you closer to the fort. A commented tour where you will learn more about the mythical Fort of Charente Maritime.
